Construction work for Alton Tower’s 2013 multi-inversion coaster has picked up pace this week. Following new boundary fences that were erected a couple of weeks ago, the task of dismantling the old Black Hole Tent has now begun. Construction workers have been concentrating on removing the canvass-style material to expose the core metal structure which will be removed piece by piece over the coming weeks, no doubts making for a clear site so that ground-works can begin.
Our exclusive photos show the guts of the old attraction where the original colour scheme of cream/green can be seen. The building has stood for a quarter of a century and forms part of the Resort’s original “big” lineup of attractions along with The Corkscrew (now also removed).
SW7 Heaven will bring you weekly construction updates throughout the 2012 season. For the latest news and photos – follow us on Twitter.
